9772 - Community Development Specialist
Under the general supervision of the Communications Manager, the Community Connector performs a variety of activities related to the department’s communications and targeted outreach efforts. Specific activities include but are not limited to assisting in informing, strengthening, supporting, monitoring and evaluating MOHCD programs; maintaining effective communications to a broad variety of stakeholders including nonprofit organizations, other City departments, and other external partners, especially those organizations focusing on the City’s most vulnerable communities as identified by the Department’s Consolidated Plan. The Community Connector may provide technical assistance and capacity building support when needed; participate in program planning, development, project implementation and evaluation; review project plans and programs to assure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations and policies; assist with project analyses, making recommendations and operational improvements that will improve program performance and ensure meeting contractual requirements; and prepare reports and records. The Community Connector at the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development also performs related duties as required.
