The Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development is recruiting for a 9775 - Senior Community Development Specialist II, working title Eviction Prevention and Housing Stabilization Program Manager, and Brian Cheu is the hiring manager. This is a Permanent Civil Service recruitment.

The Eviction Prevention and Housing Stabilization Program Manager will be responsible for implementing eviction prevention and tenant right to counsel strategies, as well complementary housing stabilization and anti-displacement strategies. This includes implementation of the Tenant Right to Counsel initiative passed by San Francisco’s voters in November 2018.

Duties will include managing the eviction prevention activities of the division, including overseeing a nonprofit grant portfolio of approximately $16 million annually; implementing the Tenant Right to Counsel initiative, with the goal of offering high-quality legal assistance to every San Francisco resident facing eviction; managing rental assistance and subsidy programs; managing the collection and analysis of data regarding eviction prevention, housing stabilization and displacement; taking a lead role in drafting departmental policies in these areas; working collaboratively, communicating and convening meetings with grantees in order to manage and coordinate their funded activities; representing MOHCD at inter-departmental and citywide meetings; making presentations to the Board of Supervisors and other public bodies; serving as departmental point of contact for managing constituent issues regarding housing stability and evictions. This position will also manage the 9772 Community Development Specialist Rental Assistance Coordinator, which will coordinate the Season of Sharing program along with other rental assistance programs.
