The February 26, 2001 minutes were approved.

Director's Report:

Eugene Coleman, Deputy Director reports on this year's public hearing held on Monday, March 26th. We have received information that the Korean Center and two other agencies has requested meetings with Mayor Brown to discuss our current recommendations for this year's funding cycle. The Korean Center has requested additional funding to complete renovation of their building to accommodate space for organizations being evicted from the Fillmore Center. Ms. David has only agreed to pay for the roof that needs repair by using pool funds at this point and further discussion will be addressed per the Mayor's request.

·          United Council of Human Services grand opening celebration of their new facility has been scheduled for tonight at 6:30 p.m.

·          CCCD Committee has been invited to attend our CDBG Annual Breakfast Celebration on Thursday, April 19th at the California Culinary Academy. If you're interested in attending you may RSVP tonight or contact Karen Henderson.

·          Patrick Goggin expressed concerns regarding Alice Griffin project, Vietnamese Cultural Center and Mission Vocational School. A representative of Alice Griffin spoke at the public hearing regarding a lack of funding and ADA issues. Jon Pon states, Alice Griffin has received two public space improvement grants through the San Francisco League of Urban Gardners and The San Francisco Conservation Corp currently and for the past two years. The Vietnamese Cultural Center has disagreements regarding their $35k recommendation and the Mission Vocational School had requested additional funding to begin a technical resource center. Unfortunately, their request was not honored due to a lack of experience.

·          Philip Ting, Chair discussed holding our regularly scheduled monthly CCCD meeting once a quarter in the community. The committee has agreed to hold June CCCD monthly meeting in Vis-Valley. Daryl Higashi, Deputy Director-MOH will assist MOCD in finalizing the meeting arrangements. The Chair has also agreed to cancel future monthly meetings in the summer months due to a lack of member participation because of travel plans. Tentatively the month of August 2001 CCCD monthly meeting has been canceled. Confirmation of further meeting cancellations will be discussed at next month's meeting.
