October 17, 2005 - Public Noticing for Surplus Sites

December 15, 2005

TO: CAC of the Surplus City Property Program

FROM: Jill Fox

Dear Colleagues,

I propose the following resolution for discussion on December 19, 2005:

In the spirit of open government, the Citizen’s Advisory Committee of the Surplus City Property Program requests that the Mayor’s Office of Housing place simple physical notices at each property that is being evaluated as suitable for disposition.

The notices should state the following:

The property at list address and block and lot number, which is owned by the City and County of San Francisco, is being evaluated for sale under the surplus properties ordinance (San Francisco Administrative Code Section 23A.9).

A public discussion of this evaluation will take place before the Citizen’s Advisory Committee of the Surplus City Property Program on or after list hearing date.

For information or to be notified about committee meeting dates, please contact the Mayor’s Office of Housing list contact information.

These notices should be written on MOH letterhead, placed in a plastic sleeve, and affixed near the property not less than 2 months prior to said property being discussed by the committee.

I believe that this resolution falls within the spirit of the Sunshine Ordinance, and will increase informed community participation in our deliberations.

Thank you for your consideration.
