MOHCD developments Mission Bay South Block 6 West was awarded $5.0 million, and Candlestick Point North Block 10A was awarded $3.4 million of Infill Infrastructure Grant (IIG) Program funding from the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD).
HCD awarded IIG funds to developers and jurisdictions around the state. While not funding the development of the project itself, the grants provide infrastructure funding which is necessary for its development. The affordable housing produced will provide almost 2,000 housing units.
The Downpayment Assistance Loan Program (DALP) provides downpayment assistance, in the form of a deferred payment loan up to $375,000, to qualified low- and middle-income first time homebuyers for the purchase of a market-rate principal residence in San Francisco.
On October 25th, the Mayor celebrated the grand opening of 1009 Masonic Ave (Arc Mercy Community) in the Haight. The former residential care facility was renovated into 16 studio units for developmental disabled households that will enable them to live independently. The building is also one of the last developments to receive capital funding from HUD’s Section 811 program. 16 units receive operating subsidies HUD so that residents only pay 30% of their income toward rent.
