MOHCD's Community Development focuses on the following for economic self-sufficiency:
Workforce Readiness and Educational Support
Through MOHCD’s “Foundational Competencies” program area, grantees provide training and support to improve workforce readiness, educational success and personal effectiveness/soft skills.
Financial Education and Counseling
Grantees provide individualized financial education, counseling and coaching to assist individuals in achieving asset growth, strong credit, economic self-sufficiency and improved financial security.
Case Management and Service Connection
Designed to address the whole range of a person’s or family’s needs, grantees in MOHCD’s “Service Connection” program area provide case management, service connection and information & referral services.
Legal Services
Grantees provide high quality legal services to low-income and at-risk individuals, including recent immigrants and survivors of domestic violence.
