In celebration of the Bay Area's Affordable Housing Week

Canon Kip Community House was the first new construction in permanent supportive housing in San Francisco’s history, when it opened in 1994. In the last 25 years, best practices have changed immensely, and the decision for a complete rehab of Canon Kip Community House was deemed necessary to reflect those changes. MOHCD provided $2.5 million towards this endeavor.

With this renovation, Episcopal Community Services is committed to:

  • Further build community in the South of Market neighborhood
  • Develop skills with the CHEFS culinary training program for homeless adults and the Canon Kip Senior Center (located on the first floor)
  • Enrich lives to prevent and end the cycle of homelessness for residents

Join ECS for an Open House with guided tours of the renovation, before and after photographic glimpses of the project, and informational guides on financing, design, and services during a fully occupied rehab!
